Location: The Marriott Property at Monte Cristo is a tract of 40+ acre lots located on the back bone of a long high ridge tucked away just behind the Wasatch Mountain Range. See the map above. Ogden is 30 miles north of Salt Lake City and its internation airport.. From the freeway you travel east through scenic Ogden Canyon to Huntsville in the beautiful Ogden Valley. Following along the canyon road you climb up the mountains for about 16 miles to the parking lot of the Monte Cristo snowmobile area. The subject property is in a gated area just east and adjacent to the snowmobile parking lot.

Description: Access to the property has been limited to family members, which explains the abundance of resident elk, deer, moose, turkey and grouse. It is very common to see some of this wild life while visiting the property. When spring comes to the high country, the spectrum of colors expodes with various species of wild flowers and plants decorating the panormama with their beauty until the late fall freeze. The trees on the property are Quaking Aspen and Mountain Maple, adding the its tranquil, relaxing landscape. Your visit should also include some evening hours so that you may enjoy the brilliance of the night sky, with no light pollution.

Recreation: Ogden Valley is home to Pineview Reservoir, for all of your summer water sports like swimming, boating, fishing, water skiing and more. There are three ski resorts within 15 miles of the property, including Snow Basin which hosted the Down Hill and the Giant Slalom races in the 2002 Olympics. The Monte Cristo snowmobile area includes trails that traverse the top of the mountain range to Curtis Creek, then off the ridge and down to the Hardware Ranch where hundreds of elk are feed each winter. The trail then goes back across Ant Flats to the parking lot.
